Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone, for the past little while whenever I am trying to eat food i start feeling nauseous. Even the sight of food makes me feel this way, and when I'm eating it I feel like it has no taste and I just have no appetite for it. I know that loss of appetite is a symptom of crohn's but I have no other symptoms (i.e. bloating, stomach cramps etc..) I have been taking humira and I'm currently in remission.

Thanks everyone!

Hi, Rose
It was a long time ago, 1972. I'd had other symptoms before that, skin problems and various pains but I hadn't been diagnosed. Then, at the age of 15 I totally lost my appetite. I just couldn't eat anything. I was hospitalised and suffered a dangerous loss of weight and had loads and loads of tests before Crohns was eventually diagnosed. I was put on pred and the rest is history. Not had a loss of appetite like this since... but sometimes if I'm feeling unwell, I will feel nauseous rather than hungry, but after eating something I usually feel ok again..
That's only my experience and everyone's different, but I hope you get over this quickly.

PS. Forgot to add, regarding your original post... while I suffered the loss of appetite I had no other symptoms at all, so it was just like you describe, but it never came back.

Rose, I feel exactly the same way now, well, plus some other symptoms. I've been on Humira, two weeks ago a really bad flare-up kicked in and since then I feel nauseous all day in addition to my "normal" flare-up symptoms. There are only a few foods I can imagine eating and so I only eat these foods, the typical flare-up-foods such as mashed potato and toast. Sometimes mashed carrots and that's pretty much it. I'm on pred now but nothing has changed yet, pretty frightening to me. I would expect it is due to a flare for me, not some side effect from Humira, probably my stomach is inflamed again (gastritis)... Do you have stomach pain or acid reflux?

Hi Rose15
Oh you poor thing, that sounds awful. I have had something similar. Apart from taking anti-nausea medication I cant suggest anything to help. Dont put too much pressure on yourself to eat too much (maybe just a cracker or something?), I agree about taking fluids instead.
