Okay so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have Crohns colitis diagnosed nearly 3 years ago. My most recent flare had me back on 40mg of pred and 100mg of Imuran. I'm tapering from the pred but not feeling better. I'm super nauseous but hungry and while I have been eating I can eat only eat a little bit at a time because I feel so full. It feels as if there is food in my throat. I'm waiting for my GI to call me back with his opinion. I thought it would get better as the meds started working but it hasn't and unfortunately they seem to not be working very well either. I haven't had any BM since last Saturday and even that was not normal it was total stomach pain and diareah with blood. Has anyone felt this before and is it from having a full intestine or do you think it may be something else?

Hey Stacey I would get an Endoscopy , you could have problems in the area. This can be treated. Most people do flare again once of Pred, or tapering. It is just a bandaid til something else works. You could be narrowed somewhere. When was your last scope or endoscopy? :hang:. Keep us posted.

YES! I have/had this exact problem. I felt like my stomach was so full that it was pushing food back up my esophagus. My GI doubled my omeprazole and that helped a lot. Now I only get that problem when I do eat a big meal. It's related to my hiatal hernia/reflux issues.

You haven't had a BM in a week?? Is that normal for you?

You may need to give the imuran more time to work, which means you want to consider increasing your pred to a more effective dose.

Yes my dr said Imuran would take about 6 weeks. But I was feeling so good about two weeks in (thanks to the pred) that I think I started tapering too quickly. Im normally constipated but when the pred is working I go everyday sometimes 2-3 times. When I have a flare I can be in the bathroom up to 20 times and only pass blood and mucus. I hate the effects of the pred I was on it for 4 months at the beginning of the year and I get full on moon face, aching joints and the day I start to taper I'm a wreck (tremors, confusion,). I'm traveling for 7 weeks in December and I was really hoping to be feeling better and off meds before I left. I also have horrible acid reflux but Ive had it since a while after being diagnosed. I've never had an endoscopy for the crohns I've only had colonoscopies and ct scans. I'm hoping the dr will get back to me soon with some direction. In the mean time Thanks for all your input.

that's exactly what my stomach does. I do not have any D and have never been oral pred. but i'm nasua when i am nauseous but hungry and full after a few bit. wish i had an answer but none.
