so.. i had my first colonoscopy today =D

so i had my colonoscopy done. takin the moviprep was painful to clean out my system =/ also i wasn't slept through the procedure so i felt some uncomfortable feelings.. =/ well anyways the outcome that doctor told me was that i have ulcers in my small intestine and in my colons. he couldn't be sure if it was crohn's until the results from the biopsy are given.. which will be next week (it stressed me that i had to wait another week for results because i want to know what the heck is causing these stressful symptoms to me) . Well.... until the results come out, he gave me the asacol HD(800 mg) to take.. which are some pretty big pills. whether it is ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease or whatever it is, i hope the results come out fast so i can given the right drugs to treat the problem. the stomach pain and the diarrhea that is followed by every meal is very annoying and stressful!

*any inputs on what it possibly could be that is causing ulcers in small intestine in my colons??*

I have ulcers in the intestine, cobblestone ulcers, 5 of them (so far) and it is crohns. I have flares from time to time and nothing seems to help me but you may not have Crohns and you do have to wait for the results. Asacol pills are big but do not half them, they need to get to the area affected. I did that with Pentasa, my doctor wasnt impressed but I knew nothing about Crohns at that time.

All I can tell you from my point of view. Let us know the results!

Hey kaykang,

It's good to hear you got through your colonoscopy OK. The waiting is the hardest part but at least you're on your way now. As Jett said, it may be Crohns but best let the experts decide that one!

Good luck and I hope the results tell you what you need to know.

Take care,
Dusty

Hi: Congratulations on getting yourself through your first colonoscopy. It's a long process with prep and all. I hope that it isn't too hard to wait a week for results -- so close to having an answer just seems all the harder sometimes, doesn't it? Hang in there!

Hi. I agree it's well done to you for getting through your first colonoscopy. Sometimes I wish I could make time go faster - especially where results are concerned. It wont be long you are so close to getting a diagnosis.

Hi Kay and welcome:) I agree with all the above. It's a waiting game now. I hope whatever it is, you get a clear diagnosis. Sometimes as you'll read on here, the process of dxing crohn's can take a loooong time!! Good luck and all the best!!

Hiya! Glad you got through your colonoscopy okay, I had my first one a few weeks back! I hope they give you the results quickly (still waiting for my doctors appointment to discuss mine :S) the waiting is the hardest part, let us know how you get on!

Oh and Welcome :)

Yeah, well done, it's not a nice thing to have!
chillax now, you'll know soon enough, hope you get some answers soon
