after waiting a month and not hearing anything about my mri test and colon transit studies i called the consultants office only to be told the tests were rejected! why? i have no idea, was i told... no so been sitting in agong for 4 weeks since getting out of hospital with the prommise these tests would give me answers. so where do i go from here? have never seen my consultant since he removed my gallbladder in oct and been in pain since, not happy at all, my dogs get treated better than this!

Franceshop, So from reading your post I assume you have your own GI. DR? also assume you have Crohn's disease? My advice to you if you do have a DR. and he/she is not doing anything for you and you are in pain is to go to the ER. If you do that and become pain free for a bit I would use that time to find a new GI. DR. I would have more to add to this reply if I knew what exactly your problem is. Crohn's? pain from Gallbladder surgery? another digestive disease? I have been diagnosed with Crohn's since 2003 and have had many flare ups and hospital stays, along with surgery. Hope I helped you in some way. Feel free to ask me anything.

It is atrocious that this has happened - just to confirm where roughly are you based? In the UK we have PALS which is who you can go to complain about the care - or lack of - that you are getting so depending on where you live I would say to go your equivalent of this. Someone needs to step in and help you get the care that you need.

Hi timothy, i dont have a dx yet, i was hoping these tests would give me the answers my consultant prommised he would find for me. my gp isnt happy and is writing to see what the hec is going on. very dissapointed, my animals are treated better!
Angry bird x I am in the uk and will be thinking of going down the line of making a complaint. my consultant said his clinics are so busy with his cancer patients and thats why i have not had any follow up since oct but he will see me when he soes my endoscopy in a few weeks.

that is terrible! hopefully your gp will refer you to a different consultant, someone who has time for you and you get some results quickly

i hope you start feeling better soon, once you are i also think you should make a complaint, to stop it happening to anyone else in future

Thank you everyone, i will be making a complaint, my gp is writing a letter today, to see what is going on and copying both consultants in so they both know whats been happening and that im not happy. I will let you know when i hear anything.

Hi Timothy, i can get away with soup and eating a sandwich but anything more causes pain, like i had a small bowl of pasta the other night and i was in agony, i dont dring large amounts either , a full belly is not a happy belly, i have started taking a diary of when i go to the loo, whether its constipation or diarrhea cos i cant get a happy medium.
I spoke to my gp yesterday who sait it wasnt on what ha happened and is chasing it up! she said it was planned that i would see my consultant in the same day as my scope on the 26th march so thats not too long to wait.

Oh, that's good to hear you have a procedure on the way. I was diagnosed with crohn's after having a colonoscopy. In my opinion I would stay away from high fiber foods unless they are well cooked or steamed. Also some people have problems with wheat and or foods with high carbs until your procedure and see how you feel. Of course you can do whatever you want, but I like to think I have some experience when giving advice to people as I have spent a good 10 years with stomach problems.

yeah i do avoid fiber, they bloat me and hurt, i apreciate any feedback, thats why i'm here. x thank you for your advice.

update, my consultant has had his butt kicked and has said if nothing shows on my endoscopy i will be reffered to a specialist for my stomach! good news x

@Franceshop. I am a little confused why you have not already been referred to a specialist or a Gastroenterologist way before this. I do not understand what consultants are in your country. I assume they are the same as our Primary care Doctors we have in the States. Guess what I am saying is that your pain and suffering has been going on way too long! Also I hate the way our health care system is run here, I am not trying to vilify the ways your is run. Just wanted to make that clear. I am fortunate that my employer has excellent heal insurance for their employes. But I can not say that for most Americans.

The consultants i have seen are general surgeons, one of them removed my gallbladder and the other one was who i seen when i was in with my bowel obstruction, so the latter one wrote to me today saying because i have seen 2 consutlants wires are getting crossed and they are doing different tests, so the original one wasnt looking after me properly and the second one said there is no point 2 people doing different tests so im bactk to the original one who sucks. i have never even seen him in his clinic,
my husband and i will be complaining to the nhs! my gp who i think is the primary care as you's call it is very g
