So what is the sunshine poop?

I am practically gleeful that I have a place to ask all my horrifying poop questions now!

So my poop is a cheery vibrant sunshine yellow. It's such a happy yellow that it is kind of like my colon giving me the middle finger after all the pain and badness it takes to get here. Sometimes it's got bits of chewed food in it, other time it has a nice frothy head. It always smells like a burning belt on a vacuum cleaner when you've sucked up a sock.

What is this and why does it happen? I'm assuming it's just from the rapid transit time, but I want all the gory details.

You are right - rapid transit is the most likely issue. Bile changes from green to yellow to brown on its way through the intestines. Bile salts are acted upon by bacteria in the large bowel which change the pigment. The smell may also be bacterial in nature. Are you using any probiotics? You could try some simple blends, so you can identify which help. Some do not!

I dunno. All I've managed to get down today was water and a gogurt. So not terribly high fat food, but plenty of sunshine.
