Soo the beginning of 2011 I got dx with crohn's in the terminal ileum. I am NOT having any lower abdominal pain whatsoever. My pain is 3 inches directly above my bellybotton . Very tender and sore in that area. Some of the symptoms- Burning, dull abdominal that makes me want to vomit, Indigestion (bloating, feeling full fast), My stomach feels like its eating itself.

This diagnosis just doesn't make sense to me, seeing all my complaints are due to problems that are in the upper region. Any ideas on what this could be?

Thanks, Evan

As you will quickly see, all of us have just a little bit different disease that's still Crohns. One description does not even come close to describing this disease. I've been dx with CD in the rectum, and illium, but they just did an MRI so we will see how much is in my small bowel now. That could be where the pain is coming from.

I too have little pain - it's more of a reminder that something is wrong when I get pain, than a horrible pain as some describe. (Although I have had a handful of nights where I wanted to die but that was pre-DX and didn't put it all together...anyway....)And my pain has been around the belly button, but it's been other places too. I'm just trying to be thankful that I'm not in horrid pain as many are.

Oh, and I also have upper pain - like just under my ribs. Found out I have gastritis, and mine is a side-effect of the CD. Fun stuff!

Hey Evan,

Both of my children have ileal CD located in the terminal ileum. My son had all his pain around his navel and right lower quadrant, much as you would expect. My daughter on the other hand never did, all of her pain was located in the upper epigastric region and so she mainly suffered with stomach ache, nausea and vomiting.

I don't know why her symptoms presented like this but she only had CD in the ileum as well.

Take care, :)
Dusty

I get upper epigastric pain also and all around my bellybutton. Thats how it STARTED now its moved to lower right.

I get a lot of lower right-sided pain, along with pain around my navel. Sometimes it feels like someone is pulling on my belly button. I get tons of nausea also.

Hi Evan, sounds like CD to me. The disease can affect anywhere in the digestive track, and with all or none of the symptoms you experiene. I hurt in my lower right quad, my belly-button area, my back...and when your intestines are inflammed it makes every other muscle in the area ach. For me the disease is ever challanging....new health problems arise with frequent trips to the ER....and thats not fun.

I appreciate the replies :) Wow, I am learning new things everyday. Very glad I found this forum. I didn't realize it can effect me in the epigastric region when the crohn's is in the small intestine, but now i know. Before the dx I was on Tylonel 3 with codeine for four months until the doctors figured out what it was, that was hard on the system.
