Hi all.
So I had an iliocolic resection via key hole a month ago now, all the scabbing has come off the biggest scar, however when the scab came off the bottom a piece on plastic looking something was sticking out about 2mm this was about 2 weeks ago when I noticed this, its not gotten any longer and isn't bothering my, I asked the nurse who changed my dressings for me and she said it just looks like a bit of glue, but the end looks to round for glue (my wounds were all glued)
I was wondering if anyone has had anything similar and if so what you done?
Thanks!

Hey.. I had the exact same thing happen to me. It was an internal dissolving stitch. I didn't know I had stitches so it was a bit of a surprise to me too. If your worried then go back to the doctor or call the surgeon but there shouldn't be anything to worry about. The stitches slowly dissolve then just drop off naturally. It doesn't hurt just might itch a bit. Hope this reassures you.

hey nellie,i had that to with my last surgery and pulled it out, also just had it happen again with previous surgery, its basically your body trying to get rid of what it thinks is a foreign object,it happened to my wife after her C section after the birth of our wee girl.my latest pop out wouldnt pull out so i just need to hope it either dissolves or pops out again and its not attached to anything so i can yank it out

You should never pull anything out, leave it to the doctor. You have no idea what it is or what it might be attached to and you can cause further damage. If you are concerned about it, speak with your doctor about it.

Yes please don't pull it out, it it's a stitch it will fall off on its own, if its not it could cause untold harm.
