Has anyone come home from the hospital after crohns surgery and found their right arm stiff and painful? It starts above my elbow - inside of the arm and ends at the front of my shoulder.

This same arm went stiff after my Remicade transfusion a week prior to surgery. I self medicated 20 mg of prednisone and that pain disappeared. I was finishing a taper anyway.

Tylenol and the pain relievers they prescribed me are barely strong enough for my arm pain.

huh, yeah thats happened to me after surgery before, but i thought it was just coincidence.
it doesnt happen every time though.
maybe its the anestesia? did you get it by iv or mask? sometimes it burns a LOT when its going in the vein, myabe it really irritates the vein and thats what we feel afterwards too

A friend of mine who recently had surgery for Crohns had the same thing happen and they told him that it was from having his arms strapped down and straight out from his body during surgery and how long his surgery lasted. He actually has numbness in his fingers because they said that something is bruised in his arm from the way he was positioned. They told him that over time it would go away. Hope this helps.
