I was recently diagnosed with Crohns Disease, and I am trying to find an excellent specialist!! I live in Texas and would be willing to fly anywhere is the U.S., it would be nice to find some one in chicago because I have family there! I couldn't seem to find one in Texas, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wow now that is some kind of dedication. Number 1 rated gastro clinic worldwide is the Mayo clinic in Minnesota although very hard to get a referral. I know a guy on here had work done in Chicago and I may sound like an idiot but I believe he said at Northwestern? Anyway best of luck and welcome to the forums.

Mayo in Jacksonville Fl has a good GI program. I am curious have you gone to a local GI doc? Look on The ccfa website and see if there is one, I have found that having a good doc patient relationship with my GI is really important, I personally have to go back every 3 months, regardless what is going on, so something to think about flying all over the country every 3 months.

Mayo isn't hard to get into, at least it wasn't for me. I ended up going to University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment though - it was closer for me. They have a great IBD center; I think the its ranked 5 in the nation.

i live near chicago i've been to the mayo clinic and the gi i have now was reccomended to us by the mayo clinic...he's a ped's doc but there is also an adult gi on the lower level idk how good she is but she has helped me out before i go to Rockford Memorial Hospital great in gi also my other specialist was in Napperville and his name was Dr. Nagpal very creepy dude but i guess hes in the top 10
