I have an appointment with my consultant next week to discuss treatment options as mentioned in my post in the My story section. Have heard about St Marks Hospital and Academic Institute in London which apparently specialises in IBD. It is NHS and jsut wondered if anyone had experience with them.

I am not particularly happy with my care so far as seem to quick to look at surgery and from the replied I have received (many thanks for those) am not on th eright levels of drugs so no wonder they are not fully effective and considering 2nd opinion.

Any feedback about St Marks or other places greatly appreciated.

Thanks

SAM

Current Meds -
15mg Prednisone per day (tapering down)
2000mg Pentasa
100mg Azathiropine

hi samoran

I've had a double balloon at st marks and all I can say is the folks are great. Both Dr Fraser and Dr Despott know their stuff and are down to earth too.

St Marks is world renowned. I was diagnosed, operated on and have my regular check ups all at St Marks and the adjoining Northwick Park hospital. I'm lucky enough to live close by. If you are not happy with your current care and can get to the hospital easily then there aren't many better places in the world for intestinal care and research.
