Has anyone heard of this? My GI has recommended that I stop taking Asacol and use this instead. My understanding is that it's for rehydration. Tummy very sore over last 3 days and feeling weak, headaches and joints achey. Is this a bug I've picked up or another manifestation of Crohns?

By the way I've now been diagnosed with short bowel syndrome. Anyone tell me what the implications are? Sorry to sound so needy and negative, just looking for a hole to climb into, in a dark place at the moment.

Yes, it's rehydration solution. It's basically like dioralyte. Not sure why St Marks made it's own solution though and never knew it was widely available till my stoma nurse from my local hospital told me it didn't taste too good.

Hope you feel better soon!

Paddy, I'm really sorry you are feeling poorly. The solution they gave you for rehydration, are they thinking you are just dehydrated then? Muscle cramps yes, but stomach problems no for dehydration. Are you possibly flaring just a bit? Have you had your bloods taken recently to check everything?

Hi thanks for your reply. No I haven't had my bloods done for ages...I keep away from the doctors...all the poking and prodding and shoving things where they don't belong..:ywow:.I suppose it would be an idea to get down to talk to my GP. How are things with you?
I don't like the sound of the ST marks Solution and the instructions say no tea or plain water ,just SMS. Nah!
