Hi all, super quick question for you today..

I started Aza today, 50mg dose for 28 days before upping after blood tests

For those who have been taking aza longer term, were you still able to go to the gym and get muscle gains/cardiovascularly fitter

One of the few things that crohns doesn't effect for me is keeping fit/building muscle, I'm lucky in the sense my fatigue is very hit and miss, if aza was to take away this luxury, I honestly don't know what I would do!

Will be interesting to hear from you folks,

Cheers.

I'm not on Aza but I am on 6-mp which is somewhat similar. I was never much of a muscular gal and I've been doing crossfit-style bootcamps and have increased my muscle mass in the months I've been doing it (2-3x week). There are posts scattered here and there of some folks who lift weights routinely with little issue.

My only suggestion would take care to get an adequate amount of rest and eat a proper diet and include the necessary vitamins/supplements. It goes a long way in accomplishing what you want by not depriving your body of what it needs.

I'm only 31 but have developed arthritis in my knees since working out more frequently. I've since bumped down to 1-2x bootcamps per week with less intensity. Not sure if my treatment plan or the condition itself has been a contributing factor to that but worth making note of.
