Hi, I'm getting my first four pen injections of humira in the morning. I have really bad anxiety issues and honestly I'm terrified of going up to this "big gun" medication. I've been taking imuran and after a colonoscopy it was decided I really need to start humira due to how bad my crohns has gotten. I'm just so nervous about possible side effects and my anxiety is making me fear the worst. Is there any sort of comfort anyone here can give me? I'd appreciate it a lot, thank you! (Also a note, the shot itself is not a problem. Needles and administering a shot myself isn't anything I worry about)

I started Humira about 6 months ago myself! It has given me my life back! I feel like my old self again...have even been able to start a regular exercise regimen which in itself has given me the energy and stamina to get thru the day! I now have fewer symptoms....less joint pain, less bloating and stomach pain after I eat, and feel much better all around! Side effects for me have been minimal and feel like I can go about my day normally most weeks! Have way more good days than bad so that's a huge plus!!! Good luck to you!

It's good to hear it worked so well for you! I went in today and the nurse helped ease some of my anxiety before getting the shots. I'm a little sore but icing those now and taking it easy. Fingers crossed all goes well. Thank you so much for the response

I've been taking Humira for years now (twice a month) without any side effects that I am aware of. I haven't had any mentionable flares for years either. Hope you fare as well.

I have been on Humira 4 years now and have had a long remission. Best thing I ever did to fight my Crohn's was go on Humira.

I've been on Humira 8 mos. My only side effect was slight nausea the day after injection and sinus problems (one infection, still have congestion). To me, the side effects are small compared to Crohn's. I no longer get nausea and inject every week now to address joint pain.
