Ive been reading alot of threads on here and to be honest Im not liking the sound of it. Seems generally its works for a while and has alot of side affects.

Seems to be more hassle than its worth :pale:

Hello, I just joined this forum and will be starting Humira in less than a few hours. Waiting on the nurse to show up at my house and will be getting 4 shots. Hope both of our experiences go well!

I was on Remicade for several years until it started to be less effective and eventually no help at all. I'm excited to start something new and hope it helps. I've been on prednisone for the last several months - I'm not a fan of it but it's one of the few drugs that still works for me. The side effects are horrible so I'm hoping I'll be able to taper myself off it soon.

Well how did it go for you?

I couldnt do the pens myself, the nurse showed me the first and wanted me to do the other 3 myself, I froze when she handed me the pen lol!

My sites havent been red or bruised and infections so far, so it went well and I must say Im feeling a bit better already, my appetite is slowly coming back and nausea is gone!! Its been 4 long months waiting to be sympton free, Ive been on Pred, budenofalk, entocort and Im staying on aza.

Im extrmely worried about getting psoriasis though, alto people seem to get it because of humira.

Haven't had it yet. Nurse should be here in about 20-30 minutes. I'll let you know how it goes once I get them done. I'm super anxious though...

Nurse just left. Went very well and was extremely simple. I gave myself all 4 doses on my belly. I didn't feel the needle at all just the sting of the medicine for a few seconds, maybe 5 seconds tops. Definitely nothing I can't handle. Compared to the remicade infusion I was getting before, this is a walk in the park. Extremely excited to be on humira and hope to notice an improvement in my symptoms in a week or so.
