how long does it normally take to see some improvements after taking Humira ?
I have been on cimzia for 3 months and making the switch since no relief

Hi! I felt Humira helping me after about a month or so, but it can take around 2 months for some people. This should be pretty similar with Cimzia and other biologics. It may be worth waiting another week or two to be sure that Cimzia isn't working for you.

Hia,
From what I have read it is different with everyone. I had a double dose 2 weeks before Christmas and by Christmas Day I was feeling a lot more human! Not 100% back to normal but a lot more like my old self!
Hope this helps, I found it was my wonder drug, I've been lucky with no side effects and it kept me well for nearly 2 years!
Good luck! X

It depends on how they start you as well. General dosing is once every two weeks. Some docs will put in for a multi-injection kickstart to the program to get it going, though. If your doc does recommend the multi-injection start-up, be sure to get your insurance to validate they will pay for the increased dose first.

I went on the kickstart approach and started feeling better about 6 weeks after my first injection.

I went onto Humira after failing Remicade early on, it probably took about 6 weeks for me to start feeling better after the first loading dose. Hope it works for you too!

Heard 6 weeks is the general consensus. Got 4 shots a week ago, no help for the fistula at all yet obviously too early.

My fistula started closing after about 3 weeks, and took about 8 for the external part to heal (perianal fistula to the outside). It beats the heck out of the fistulotomy surgeries I used to go through! I hope the Humira works as well for you.

Had my first 4 loading doses last Weds following relapse. Still on prednisolone so not too easy to tell which drugs are having what effect, but I can definitely already feel new drugs coursing through me and my body adapting. There has also been a change in my Stoma output.

Hopefully will start reducing pred following my second loading doses.

I normally react to new drugs quite quickly, so looking forward to a better Xmas than I've had the last few months.

Good luck to you, hope it goes well

I was in the hospital this Thanksgiving, they give me one injection one day one injection the next day. Later on when I got discharged next day the third day they saw the doctor saw that I was having diarrhea and thought that I was opening up my strictures. So I'm not entirely sure it's a strictures opening or not but I guess it's individualize just like this disease. What do you guys think?
