I stay hungry all the time...I was just curious if I'm the only one who could eat like a horse? lol I had a ileostomy reversal in 09' so it makes my diarrhea alot more than it use to be. Could all the diarrhea through out the day be the reason I stay so hungry?

I stay hungry all the time. Diarreah will make you feel hungry for two reasons 1)your body isn't digesting things naturally(especially if you've got dumping syndrom) and 2) you feel full while it's in you but as soon as it's emptied you don't feel full anymore...the diarreah takes up a lot of space in your system **just what I've noticed** Our systems are working twice as hard as a normal persons which is why we expirience so much fatigue throughout the day. We process things at twice the normal rate.

I also stay hungry for fear of what happens afterward...I eat a lot I spend the next few days expelling it. The hungrier I stay the less likely I'll be sitting on the toliet in agony for hours on end lol

glad to know i'm not alone. lol i know alot of others on here have a hard time eating, which i've had my times with that too. If i didn't have diarrhea so much, i'd be as big as a house! haha

You've said you had a reveral in '09. I am assuming you've had your colon or some part of it removed. The colon is where a lot of your hydration takes place. Since you experience a fair amount of diarrhea your body is dehydrating itself. I know it sounds odd but dehydration can make a person feel hungry. You're body is seeking out salt and potassium and it's triggering hunger responce to get it.
If you crave salty foods it's a dead give away sign they your dehydrated and it's not the munchies.
