Does anyone have any information on the current research into Stem Cell replacement and the benefits to Crohns sufferers?

no, but if its' a remote possibility, anyone considering pregnancy should look at the possibility of freezing the placenta.

We thought about the whole cord blood thing, but it cost so much to have it frozen and stored we passed it up.

Well, since it's from 2001, and they were supposed to do a followup in 5 years to see if the patients who responded remained in remission, I wonder how that went. to knockout the immune system, then regenerate it from bone marrow is pretty risky. Life threatening even. guess that's why it didn't catch on (or it was the cut back in stem cell research).. But if they were able to do this via bone marrow from someone who already had crohns, then it wouldn't be absolutely necessary to collect/harvest/store placentas (placentaa's... any latin experts care to help me out here??)
