So yeah in a nutshell :depressed: and tired.
But onto my story. I think I was diagnosed Junior year in November. Junior year as in High school Junior year, which means I've had chrones for about 4 years now. I'm not entirely sure when I got it because I was in total denial and generally tried to avoid dealing with it which in terms of my discipline in taking my medication was a bit of a crisis.
I had blood in my stool and was referred to a GI specialist David Pratt, who has a really calm demeanor quite valuable in any doctor. So he ordered a colonoscopy and the barium treatment and viola I was diagnosed with chrones disease.
They found a fistula in my lower intestine and removed it on my first colonoscopy. In my second colonoscopy a year later they didn't find quite as much.
Lots of blood tests up to the present day and a gradual increase in Asacol medication. It took me a long time to get used to taking it.
My basic chrones battle has been with constant fatigue. Not as painful as much as what other people here go through I'm sure but draining nonetheless after 4 years.
It's possible it's the Azathioprine but I really feel that that medication helps with chrones so I hesitate to stop taking it.
I'm on the SCD diet right now also, although an in proportionally meat heavy version.
Oh and I'm definitely in a flare up, and it's probably been going a couple weeks.
