Hi,I had a illostomy reversal about 10 weeks ago,everything went as planned,I now suffer with a lot of wind and also I find I need to empty my bladder more and can't hold my urine like before,do u think ifs cause of my surgery,anyone else have had any similar problems. X
 
Well, I started to comment on this thinking it didn't happen, but realised that it did. The gas started hours after I started eating again, so it really tied the gas production to food for me. Initially, I found probiotics helped keep it somewhat under control. It is worth a shot if you are not already using them. It took some time for that to settle down, and I have made a couple other changes as well. I had a lot of very loose movements at the time, and was still drinking high quantities of water as I needed to when I had the bag. I reduced that, probably not soon enough, and made sure that I stayed away from high sugar drinks. Those two changes helped firm things up and probably create a better environment for my bowel bacteria. The bladder issues are probably related to pressure in your bowels, and if so, should get better as that issue comes under control. Best of luck!
