Does it hurt your stomach when you have sex? Does your stomach hurt after orgasm?

I'm just curious because this happens to me, and I wonder if I should mention it to a doctor. It has only started in the last year since the GI problems started.

Prior to my colostomy, my stomach always hurt during sex (worse in certain positions than others). It never hurt after orgasm though. Now, I don't have that problem. I'd definitely tell the doctor about it.

Sometimes it hurts when I'm having sex, depending on the position mostly and how I'm doing that day. Never really notice it hurting after an O though. I would mention it to your doctor. The O effect should at least temporarily take away pain since it's releasing so many good pain numbing hormones and chemicals. It might help locate some of your issues.

Good luck!

I would mention this to your doc, pain after sex or orgasm shouldn't hurt. There could be something gynae going on like endometriosis or Pelvic Inflamm Disease, or a cyst on an ovary.
I had these symptoms too, and during ovulation and menses!
I was covered in endos all over my bowels and bladder, they're like barnacles on a boat!
so get a referral to gynae, get it checked
You can read about endometriosis in the ForumWiki
hope you're ok

Like most everyone else has said, i get pain during sex sometimes, especially in certain positions. After sex however, I always seem to feel better, not worse. Just like Cindy, I didn't have any pain during when I had my stoma.

For sure talk to your Dr. Maybe talk to both your GI and your Gynecologist. There is no reason to keep suffering.

Hello I am very new to both this forum and crohn's however I have battled endometriosis for 15 years roughly. Endo does cause pain before, during and very much so After sex. In fact I think I mistook some of my warning cramps and such that are linked to crohn's, I assumed it was my endo.Endo can cause scar tissue thus causing pain, and left untreated can lead to many complications , mostly discomfort. It is hard to diagnose though, I didn't have severe cramping while menstruating like most cases. You might contact your Gyno. And keep a journal of symptoms as this will help speed up the process, often times it takes surgery to be certain. I have had this surgery three times, I just turned 30 this year. Sadly I now have to fear crohn's related surgeries in the future. It pays to be in tune with your body... I wish you the best of luck!!!

Thanks!
I've had a full hysterectomy, a clean up of endos, best thing I've ever done, got rid! Hurrah!
But you're right about the endos and all the problems that come with it, so I advocate all lady Crohnies to tell gynae, and to tell gastro about pains related to menses or like you said, after, or during sex.

aaahhh the sex pain thank you for this thread.
this is a recent development for me (just in the past few months)
and it's been worrying me a lot.

it seems to happen when my abdomen is also tender to the touch,
but can be alleviated by finding certain positions
that may take the pressure off my problem areas.

usually my pain recedes with orgasm,
but i can give some speculative hypotheses.
perhaps the vaginal muscle contractions during orgasm
put pressure on parts of your tubes?
or you may lose control of your posture/position that relieved pain
(even if you weren't aware of holding that posture/position!)
and collapse into a shape where...things are poking in painful places.

definitely talk to your doc about it.
also please talk to your partner about it!
hopefully you can find ways to reduce or relieve this pain.
sex shouldn't hurt; this sucks.
i'm sorry.

I've been having this problem too. Thrusting causes abdominal pain, no matter how severe or minute the GI problems happen to be at the moment.

I don't have a doctor yet. I'm working on health coverage at the moment. Thank you all ladies for your responses. I did have an emergency surgery on my L ovary a year ago. I almost died from the rupture and hemmorhage(sp?).

I have hereditary abnormal ovarian cysts. Problems since I was 14. An OBGYN in 2005 said I had a spot of endo. But when I had the surgery, the surgeon said he didn't see any. So who knows. I was scheduled for hormone tests and all kinds of things to check my pituitary (she suspected a poss tumor), and she said my breasts were unusually cystic since I didnt have a period for 10 months at the time, and nobody knows why.

I lost health insurance so go figure. Who knows what's going on. I try not to think about all of it. I try to ignore most of it because it will drive me literally insane! I just wanted to see if others experienced this. My sister just had a procedure done for endo and they suspect polycystic ovary something in her.

My last OBGYN said that it's very possible that I have ovarian failure on that side. Who knows.

It's all speculation. Then, with the brain lesions, neurological problems, and probable MS diagnosis, who knows again. I have come to a point that I think that if I'm supposed to get diagnosed properly, it will happen. I'm so exhausted from the process really. I just want to give up....

I get this also (just recently) not actually when I'm sex with my boyfriend but after every orgasm I experience cramping in my tummy (lower) that lasts only about 5 mins.
I think it's around two weeks 'til my period and i'm currently being investigated for Crohn's. Very interested in this thread.
