SORRY, theirs no lady-like way to ask, so here goes.

Grace is still having slight constipation (2-3 days) in between BM.
Today she had a soft orange-reddish color stool. In the same BM she also had the regular brown stool. It was mostly the orangish color.
She has had NO CARROTS, or anything orange. NO TOMATOES or anything red.
She is on no meds right know.
mystery
Grace has been declining a bit.
Any thoughts?

Hi Farmwife,

I just read something today, believe it was a post here, which led me to read more about the colour of stools (fun reading, eh!) Anyway, I believe orange 'may' have something to do with bile. But, I found a great site which describes causes of every colour of stool!

Thanks Tesscrorm,
Well that just makes it more interesting to me. If orange means the stool might be moving to fast for the bile and green means kind of the same thing;
why is she the constipated???:shifty:
Grace has been having green stool for weeks!
INTERESTING! What could it be?

Sorry to hear Grace is declining! Not sure about the colour sorry (not something I have dealt with ). However it is possible to have constipation and normal/loose bits coming out. If there is stool impacted in the folds of the colon it is still possible for softer stool to flow past. Aah the lovely conversations!!

Another stool Q. Not about color.:yfaint:

I've notice at different times; Grace will be in a load of pain with her stomach and knee, then she will have a BM and the pain is gone for awhile. YA!
Just wondering if this is part of crohn's or not.:sign0085:

For DS is it. Usually stomach ache is constant now but back in the beginning it would come and go. He would also complain of joint/arm/leg pain.
Today he has hip pain. He kept saying it was his bum that hurt :ylol:

I would keep track for your GI in JUne.:ghug:

I am so glad there is a place to talk about poop :lol2: I always feel crazy talking to others about poop but I know here everyone goes through what we do on a daily basis.

Kota has never really had a bowel movement that looked what I would call normal. Always changes colors and form. I always tell him let me know when you go. So I can make sure its not got blood or anything. So the other day he goes and he totally thought I had lost my mind. Because I was excited that his poop really looked like poop . I said it had never been brown and look like it did
I think Ko is probably a little right. I am a little crazy and maybe need :sign0085: lol or maybe I am just totally:boring: to be so excited about poop.

Sorry I have no advice for you. I hope Grace feels better really soon. I know its so hard to see them in pain.

My lap top has about 5 minute life span. Hubby sending it to be fixed on Monday.

New question for you all. Grace now has white specks in her stool? What would cause that. Keep in mind that when they tested the stool for c. diff a few weeks ago, they also tested for parasite. Negative for all. Her stool is staying normal. Every one to two days she has a BM.
I'll check when I can untill the thing blows up or we send it off.

No meds like that. She now has to have Tylenol when her knee pains hit. No food that I can think of either.

YES, I bringing this thread up AGAIN.:boring:
Hopefully somebody in the
future that's looking for answers on the color of pooh
will have it in one thread.

We've talked about green!
We've talked about yellow!
We've even talked about orange!

Grace had a BM before bed and it was clay color as in grayish.
Her stool is always soft.
I'm having a hard time again regulating the fiber and Miralax.
For all that's good and right please tell me any thought about this.
Grace still has a slight fever, but NO other problems today.:soledance:

Lack of color? Maybe she isn't eating enough fruity pebbles (not that thread again)...but seriously, keeping in mind we are looking for trends, if it happens again I would start thinking lack of bile. I remember this being discussed here before and bile being mentioned bt can't find the thread. Here is what I found online...I can't wait for Thursday!!!!!!! Right this in your handy dandy symptom journal!

When less than normal or no bile is excreted from the liver into the bowel (cholestasis), excreted stool will be pale, clay, gray, or white. Someone can describe it as a light color, but this is not bright yellow bowel movement, and also not mucus in the bowel movement that is jelly-like and translucent. Main causes of white bowel movement are:

•Obstruction of the biliary duct (due to gallstones, inflammation, fibrosis, cancer, pressure from outside (pancreatic cancer or cyst, abdominal tumor like fibroma) may cause cramping pains in the right upper abdomen.
•Obstruction of the outflow of the bile from the liver due to a liver disease (viral hepatitis, fatty liver, alcohol liver disease, cirrhosis, hemochromatosis or, rarely, tuberculosis, spread of cancer into the liver (liver metastases) may cause fullness or pain in the upper right abdomen, jaundice, nausea, or vomiting.

I agree with that. Remember though.....trend.....not once or even twice. Claire periodically has the weird colors & occasional pale. Doc says trends are the key.....

Hugs,

J.

Yes Azmom and that is probably the hardest thing for us newbies to learn huh? And I am also learning to look for more than one sign...I am evolving...sloooowly!

With all this talk about poo I thought you might be interested to know that I have a little chart, a little smaller than a credit card, on my lanyard...

Just sayin'
Dusty. :tinfoil:

You only had to ask J! :ylol:

Matt won't let me look at his so who the hell knows where we are at!

Dusty. :panda-wave-t:

Dusty - just take away all the toilet paper in the house and tell Matt it's quid pro quo......a peek for a square. HAHAHAHAHA you KNOW I'm kidding.

J.

Haha I was just introduced to that chart a few weeks ago. Just in time for me to declare I am no longer looking. Figured if she had all that blood and diarhea before last blood tests and she was fine whats the point. Plus she is in Remicade and gets blood taken evey 5 weeks so if anything is a brewing I will find out soon enough. See I told you all I was evolving!

Azmom: That is just too funny!!

FARMWIFE: Good luck at doc today! If you would like conference the committee in and we will let the doc know where it is at!
