Hey guys this is my first post since I just joined the forum 5 mins ago lol. My question is how do I stop a flare up? I can feel getting worst and worst from day to day, I dont want it getting out of control!

hey

theres a lot of things you can do.

drink a lot of water!
sleep early
minimize stress
exercise (for some ppl it actually has negative effects but i can't really say for you)
what medications are you taking? etc etc

GNC Crohn's Man's sig has the best advice.. seriously spend time getting to learn your body as everyone is different, and then adjust your lifestyle in the way you see fit.

what works for others may not work for you, and YOU are ultimately what will get your body in working order.

EXPERIMENT!

This is the million dollar question where crohns is concerned, wish I had the answer too. I agree with the suggestions Dekar has made though, it can only do you good to try them

First, welcome to the forum!
When I feel a flare coming on I immediately go on a semi-liquid or completely liguid diet.
There are cans of nutrient drinks, one being Ensure.
Jello- soft cooked eggs-Chai tea and lots of water...and get into bed.
I find this really helps within one or two days.

Flare ups

Hi
Welcome.
I would defendly talk to GNC CROHNS MAN,suggested by Dekar. What I do is drink lots of water or flat gigerale (stirring the bubbles out of it) and eat soda crackers. They seem to settle my stomache and stay in bed untill you start to feel better. Like Ruth said different food and liquids for different people. What works for me may or may not work for you. Trial and error I call it.

GOODLUCK

i find that going out and getting 15 minutes of sun helps.. people with crohn's usually have problems absorbing vitamin A, D, K, and E and your bodyu makes vitamin D from sunlight.. the rest i try to get from diet and multivitamin. Eat some carrots since beta-carotene you can't overdose on unless carrots give you problems.. try them boiled instead of raw might help a little.

How does drinking a liquid meal help??
I have had a flare up the past 5 days.

It helps by allowing your intestines to rest. Liquids are much easier to break down then solids so your intestines don't work much except for absorbtion.
