Stopping remicade

I have always wanted to join the US Army. But i have crohns .I need to stop takin remicade in order to enlist. What is the best way to stop takin everything all together

My son was in jrotc and had plans to go into the military through the rotc program, due to him having CD he was not eligible to do this. It was stated you could not have an illness that would deem you unfit for deployment, and as CD comes with flares it wasn't an option. I wanted to enlist in the Marine Corps about the time I found out I had Crohns and was told I wouldn't be able too.

My sister was in the Air Force and she got medically discharged because of her Crohns.


I'm still bitter that I wasn't able to enlist.........that was 10 years ago.

I HIGHLY doubt that you are able to join the military with Crohn's Disease. Sorry. You really should research this quite a bit before stopping Remicade.

You need to speak with your GI about stopping Remicade. Stopping it carries implications that can effect whether or not Remicade will work for you in the future should you need it.
