at this point i have not been disagnosed with any crohns or disorders but im not ruling it out due to symptoms i have. One thing that i have a question about is bowel movements. Now i know alot of people with crohns have diarrhea several times a day. my bowel movements is different. For example tonight i had 1 large hard bowel movement, followed by the next couple hours i usually have a couple small thin bowel movements. These movements are in pieces but break up completely when flushed. I had another CT scan today where the basic dr said nothing wrong once again, blood tests also ok. I will be seeing a GI tommorow i hope, anyone have insight on this type of bowel issue?

Hi TJ88.
As I understand it... "normal bowel movements" covers rather a wide area, and can obviously be affected by issues such as diet. If you think your "normal" stuff has changed sufficiently to worry you, then you need to see the doc as soon as possible, which you are doing.
You could possibly keep a diary, note what sort of movements when, what you've eaten and whatever else may have affected it... like exercising, if you've suddenly started mountain biking or something. You may just see some sort of correlation that explains the change... like you've started drinking a lot more coffee, or you're more stressed, worried about a new job or something. Good luck with that!

absolutely agree with Steve - what's normal for one person may not be for the next. the important thing to take note of is when things change. make sure you tell the GI all this & good luck with that appointment! let us know how it goes.

I have similar bowel movements as you and I definitely have crohn's. Usuallly, in the morning I will have harder stool and then after I pass that I will have looser stools from then on out until late at night and into the next morning. It is a semi-perfect cycle for me.

well all my stools really seems like im constipated alot of work to get them out, they also have a yellow tint to them lately. The gi they referred me too when i got home and called actually a throat dr! So i sitll have to wait 2 crappy weeks to see the first gi i got a appointment with. What is concerning me right now is when i eat i have chest pain and have a hard time eating without feeling awful.

Chest pain may be acid you might want to pick up some Zantac and see if that helps with the pain.

When I was first sick I mostly had D, but I've remained in a constant flare to varying degrees of moderate to severe for the most part...I too can have failry good sized "deposits" and then within the same day, even just a few moments later have skinnier stools, I think it's just the nature of the beast...I do also have IBS as well so that may also be factoring in.

Crohnies can also have constipation issues, it's not necessarily only a D thing for us.

:)

I wish my D was limited to "several" times a day.

Get them to actually LOOK at your bowels, otherwise it sounds like a guessing game in the dark.

A scope....

My BM's usually start with one normal formed stool followed by 'sludge', I can never quite get my head round what is happening inside??

I had my annual colonoscopy a few months ago after feeling bad for a few months then just when I think I'm coming to the end of a flare I have a little blood in my stools yet there was none when I felt bad? This isn't the first time this has happened as I had a big episode of pooing blood right out of the blue after feeling fine for a few years, this disease has a nasty habit of reminding you its still there.:(

During my last flare my stools were alternating from sticky to D and the smell was bloody awful, do you think the sticky stools stay inside too long and just go rotten? I can't think what else would make them smell so bad?

I've had all sorts of deficiencies diagnosed over the years and now the doc says I have low Vit D levels but B12 is fine, why does everything keep changing?

I have normal formed stool, followed by thinner longer stools, usually indicitive for me starting to have inflammation or lots of spasms.

With the UC, CD IBS stool does what it does, whenever it likes...its hard to pinpoint anything, like the rest have said, keep a journal and log everything you can to keep track!
