Strange scope results - be careful what you eat!

So, I go see my GI today about scope results. Seems part of my issues lately may have been due to a foreign body in my colon - part of a ketchup packet! I know my diet is strange, but to my knowledge I have never consumed part of a ketchup packet. Like mom always said, chew your food well before you swallow it.

That's so odd! How big of a piece was it? Was it causing a blockage or anything like that? I wonder how it got there - like you said, surely you'd remember eating a thing like that!

Your dog must have put it there??? I'm sorry, but that is amazing. I have to say, that should give us all an idea of what happens to our pups when they eat something!?

I gather he removed it during the scope - I was far too sedated to remember complete conversations. It may very well have been contributing to some difficulties that I was having earlier in the year, and haven't really returned since the scope. All fun and games until someone eats the ketchup packet!

That's a shame you don't remember exactly what was said - if it were me, I'd probably ask to keep the thing as a souvenir/conversation piece! I'm undiagnosed so who knows, maybe I've got some odd foreign body floating around in my guts too! I never did see the pill cam come back out again now that you mention it...

Had the joy of the pill cam getting stuck too! A week after the exam, I went into the hospital for a week until it passed. Why can't I get the smiley faces when I want them?

I can see how that would happen...when you are putting catsup on a burger and maybe it got put on the bun or something...my daughter almost ate the fortune from the fortune cookie...I had to pull it out of her mouth! She was 7 at the time and just arrived here from Russia...she had never had one before. I think my husband has a picture...it was so funny...she had no idea what the heck was going on! It was only paper...catsup packet would never dissolve. I hope he got it out for you and you feel better!
