Strange Stomach Feelings in Mornings

Hi there Forum

Just registered and want to ask for advise. I was diagnosed with Crohn's over two years ago and on Pentesa (4mg per day). Everything was fine until around a few months ago.

It's been quite a challenging year with personal and work issues and have managed to keep my exercise going up to a point. I stopped for around a month and then started some HITT training around three months ago. Since then however I've woken up around 4-6 am in the morning with what I can possibly describe as a 'sour stomach'. A lot of gargling but very rarely painful.

I've since cut out fizzy drinks and have stopped eating until around 7pm in the evening. This has stopped the gargling (both when I go to bed and when I wake up), however this hasn't stopped the acidic feel which stops me going back to sleep often.

I've been on e-cigs for a couple of years now and trying to cut these out too as I'm sure the nicotine isn't helping. I've noticed some people having something like a banana before bed, I've also cut out diary later on in the day.

Has anyone else has this issue? I don't know why it started when I started my HITT as I've been doing HITT on and off for the last two years. Maybe a combination with the anxiety this year?

Any help will be appreciated :)

Many thanks
Colin

Thanks for the advise, haven't tried antacid's before, I'll give it to a go today. In the UK we'll have something very similar, thanks!
