Hi I'm currently in the process of getting diagnosed and my doctor feels that there's a very good chance that I have Chrons because of my symptoms+ jewish heritage.

But I'm really confused about one thing. I had an abdominal CT scan and abdominal x-rays taken about 2 weeks ago and the results came back mostly clean besides the CT scan found a "narrowing" in my descending colon.
What does this mean?

The doctor who explained the results to me never used the word stricture and she said I didn't have any obstructions, but now I'm reading a narrowing of the colon is also known as a stricture. Was she not able to call it a stricture because a CT scan can't identify them?

Regardless I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy consultation on August 1st, and a colonoscopy on August 8th but until then I'm really confused.

hey Bojax!

i have this. basically, a narrowing is when the opening to your anus starts to close and cause you to have problems going to the toilet. it doesnt close fully, but it gets pretty narrow up there.

every 6-8 weeks i have what is called an anal dilatation.. my doctors basically described it to me as "shoving a metal banana up your bum to open it" now i dont know if thats conforting or not haha.

dont stress too much. if you do have a narrowing, during your colonoscopy they should do a dilatiation for you so that you might be able to go to the toilet a little easier :)

hope this helps?

Umm a little bit my narrowing is pretty far up there in my descending colon so I'm confused how a dilation would work.

My symptoms are mostly abdominal pain/cramping and alternating diarrhea/constipation, unusual rashes, eye inflammation + intermittent bright red bleeding.
