Sudden constipation... Scar tissue possibly?

So for the past 3-4 weeks my bowel movements have continued once daily, but my stool just hasn't been as soft as normal, and a little bigger, causing me some very bad abdominal pain about 30 minutes before I need to go.

It is not my diet. Although I do kinda eat a lot of fiber, my diet has stayed the same for a long time so there shouldn't be any reason for constipation just all of sudden without any break, right? I don't drink much water, but tried that method for a week with no relief. Oh and I don't really eat a whole lot of food anyway...

I am just so tired of having to take Miralax every day! I don't usually have GI issues (surprisingly) and I had my resection winter of 2010.

Sorry you are dealing with all this. I am still going through all the motions, I am seeing my GI doc tomorrow and will likely have testing done.

I also seem to get constipation too. Fiber can be constipating for some. Hw long have you had crohns? I am sorry to hear you needed surgery, that sucks. If you are going once a day, that is good, at least you are going. Can you drink prune juice at all? I know it will help with constipaiton, better than most of those laxatives out there in my opinion. You could try a small amount and see how it goes, you dont want to drink to much or you could get the diareha. I hope you feel better soon. My main symtpom is constant intestinal pain that is always worse after I have a BM. I actually feel bruised inside. The heating pad is my only refuge :(

Exact same issue for me. I had my resection May 2011, and up until February was using the bathroom 6-8x per day. February hit, no change in diet or exercise, but BAM - I went from 6-8x to NOTHING at all. For a few days, I just kind of suffered with it, just because I'd had a tendency to get constipated from stress before diagnosed. After day three, I finally called the GI. They recommended Miralax, which didn't work. Then they told me to try Mag Citrate, which didn't work. We thought I might have inflammation, so I had to get blood work and a CT scan, but they both came back relatively fine. Ended up having to do a Fleets Enema (two, actually), which seriously grossed me out. Now my doctor has me take Miralax twice a day. I hate it too. Grr!
