support groups in the UAE

Hi everyone,

My daughter has been diagnosed with crohns last month after 2 years of thinking that she had IBS . She is presently in India and will be returning to the UAE soon. Are there any support groups that could help us out here in the UAE. Also whats everyones take on JIni patel thomsons book. can across it recently.

I used to live in the UAE so your post caught my eye. Are you in Dubai? Perhaps you could ask at a doctor's surgery if they have any information on support groups. Maybe the GMC on the beach road in Jumeirah?

Sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope she is doing better. Please let me know if you found support groups here... I have lots of questions because I just moved. Please respond if possible.

Sorry for the late respnse. Nope have not found any support groups in the UAE, PLEASE feel free to drop me a line . i stay at the Arabian Ranches . currently in India but back after the 15th of August . Look forward to hearing from you .

If there is no group available, you might want to speak with a local gastroenterologist or specialist about starting one. If this person is located in a hospital, it would probably be fairly easy to get permission to host a reoccuring meet-up and I am sure the doctor will have many patients who would be interested in participating.
