Surgery for removal of skin tags

My surgeon said that he would not remove the skin tags, because they would just grow back.
However, I ended up having surgery for a perianal fistula, and right before I went under I said "Hey, while your down there, can you chop those off?" He did. They grew back.
Since I have been in remission though, they have disappeared.
I can't really say how painful the recovery was for those, because the surgery sliced through my anus - but THAT was very painful!

I have a mahoosive hole in my butt (not the one you're supposed to have) and I'm in virtually no pain so I'm guessing it'd be fine! They just slice them off right and sew them up? I imagine you'd be left with tiny wounds which should heal quick as there's a lot of blood flow to that area. Keep scrupulously clean after you have them removed - every time you have a bm jump in the shower and thoroughly rinse or have a warm salt bath, then rinse with sterile saline. if a wound is clean and healthy and undisturbed it shouldnt hurt too much (i should know).
