We're looking at possible surgery at this point, since Max has been sick for almost a year now.Has anyone here had stricturplasty?or we might be looking at a resection.I also want to get a second opinion, can anyone recommend a good colorectal surgeon in the Chicagoland area?Wanted to go to Mayo, but they don't have an appointment available until July.

I had a resection section about seven years ago. There is a section in here called Parents of Kids with IBD. You might lookn in there also.

Thanks, will do,how are you doing after resection? I have heard a lot of people might need
another surgery after a number of years

My doctor's associate said that a lot of times the disease returns. It took a while after surgery for my body to settle down. Right now, I wonder if I might be in a flare.

I have read many accounts of people who had a surgery and then did very well for more than 10 years after. Some people may need another surgery in the future but with the rapid advances in medication hopefully that number is falling. Some people will never need another surgery.

His problem is that medication does nothing for him.He is on Entyvio right now(6 months) ,feels like we're running out of options.
Ron,sorry about the flare going on. This disease really sucks.
