Hi there my names lisa, my gastro specialist today has told me that he is suspecting that i have crohns disease but i am still waiting for the diagnosis (swalling the pill camera next week) but what i would really like to know is if anyone else has experinced weight gain instead of loss with crohns prior to been on medication and also some constipation. i have had a look into forums and things and am finding it hard to work out if anyone has experinced this with out been on medications. currently i have gained about 20kg in the space of about 1-2 months. also can stress trigger an attack?

Stress can definitely trigger a flare. I also gained weight prior to surgery.
Crohns usually affects you lower GI. Why isn't your gastro scheduling a colonoscopy? The disease can affect anywhere from mouth to anus but 90% of us are affected in the terminal ileum and the traverse colon.

Hi. I'm new too! I just got results from biopsy back saying I have IBD but dont know which yet. I haven't had any recent weight loss, I just keep putting the weight on. I also have an underactive thyroid tho which could account for that and don't have diarrhoea too often except flare ups. If I'm honest (and without being too distasteful) I could afford to lose about 55lbs and still be considered overweight
