Hey guys! I am new to the forums and I must say I really love the community that you all have built!

Not sure if this has been covered before, but I wanted to start a list of things that have worked for me to help with pain when having a flare. Everyone can add on, and perhaps we can help give each other some comfort.

For me, I find the following things bring me relief when I am having a flare up:

Hot baths / showers
My heating pad
Breathing exercises
Smoking a little pot

Welcome whoami! :bigwave: Yes this has been covered!! Some choose not to go the pot route, which is not for everyone. We all do what we can to keep our flares down but it is really depending on the severity of the disease. We are like snow flakes no two are exactly alike. Glad you found us, hope to see you around the boards. How long have you had Crohns or IBD??

Hi whoami

Glad you found us and hope you're doing well..when you get time maybe you could stop by the "Your Story" thread and let us get to know you a little better...and yes those things and many others have been helpful for many of the family here....you'll find there are many here who use a little MJ for relief. Again..Welcome!

If smoking tobacco can worsen Crohn's, I always figured that smoking anything else would have the same effect..?

Hi, and welcome to the forum! I love breathing exercises and get lots of help from doing them. I keep a little list of things to do during pain episodes, because once I'm in them, it's hard to think about what to do. So that's what I will add to your list:

- Keep a physical list somewhere that's easy to access, like the side of your fridge. Detail "helps" that you can try when you're in pain (breathing exercises, heating pad, etc.).
