Hello all,
I'm in my early fifties and have had crohns since 1993.....
I have avoided surgery but it has impacted
my life like it does for most , pain...incontinence.. and currently severe
upper gastric agony.
Generally I watch myself to avoid triggers
but past 2 weeks my stomach is upset as hell.
I'm getting the burning sensation and the washing machine feeling with awful nausea.
Plus the gut - brain axis is in full swing , for
many years I have been diagnosed with panic disorder and depression. Usually they don't bounce off each other but this time they are.
I can't get my gut to settle , my bowel is can control with merberverine.
Maybe it's my age now but I utterly fear the worst when this occurs ...ulcers , h pylori (again) or the big C.
I know my thinking is making matters worse
but I came here to try and get some input
into why or if others get these upper crohns symptoms , i say crohns as I hope it's nothing else.
my appetite oddly is fine but it's the times
outside of meals that this is bad.
Recently the doc gave me iron tabs to boost red blood count that set off a horrific stomach ache but it went away once I ditched the tabs.
Finally I wonder do any of the rest of you folks get surges at this time if year as I'm pretty sure I have , but like I say this gut
issue atm won't settle.
fyi I don't have Gerd, I'm minus a gallbladder
and I'm also diagnosed with DES.
Any ideas most welcome....
