Hi all. I was just wondering if anyone else has had lymph node problems? Swelling and pain. It seems that in the past 6 months I have them swelling and hurting all over. Especially in my underarms and now in the top part of my leg. It's just a hard knot and painnnnfullllll. Any ideas on what would help or should I just go see my doc again and have them checked?

I have not had this problem in the past. People with Inflammatory Bowel Disease though (mostly Crohn's Disease) usually do have other manifestations of the diesease througout thier body ,and swelling is not unusually. You should still let your doctor know about it though, as it is always good to let them know about all the symptoms.

I have heard that increased intake of omega-3 fatty acids (like fish oil) is beneficial for swelling. You may want to try and increase this intake by actually purchasing fish oil and taking it daily (or eat more fish). It is most beneficial when you decrease your intake of saturated and animal (cows, pigs, etc.) fats.

I have swollen and painful lymph nodes in one of my legs, don tknow why. hmm.....

I went to my doctor today and he drew all sorts of blood to do a few tests, including checking me for mono. He also said that with the inflammation in the intestine that it goes into other parts of the body as well so that may be the only reason but the bloodwork is to confirm it. He also put me on 2 wks worth of antibiotics so we shall see how it goes. ~Til Next Time...Tonya =)

I havent had any in my lymh nodes but my back and knees are always inflamed.I hate how achy they always are.

hey Tonya, I hope your test results came back OK, or at least gave you some answers. I get them all the time in my neck, and behind my ears. very painful, its usually my first clue Im coming down with something..
hope your feeling better :)

I turned out having mono which causes the lymph nodes to swell. Could be that OR the Crohns, or maybe both...Does anyone else have the mono problem? I've had it twice in a yr and a half and quite frankly I'm tired or dealing with it.
