Im realtivly new to the world of Crohn's. What exactly happens when you eat something deemed bad for Crohn's sufferers? I know everyone has different things that bother them, but what are the problems you get when you do eat the wrong thing. Im trying to figure out if my issues are the same as others. My biggest complaint is i practically live in the restroom. Sometimes 10 or more times a day. Wondering if diet could help this. Not getting much help from Doctors on this. Im also a fortunate Liver transplant recipient. Which is probably part of the reason for the crohns. Transplant recipients have to keep their immune system down so we dont reject the organ. So appreciative for my transplant, crohn's is a small price to pay. But i would llike to do everything possible to lessen the trips to the restroom. :)

When I was flaring with my Crohn's I would be running to the bathroom about 16-20+ times a day crying and vomiting at the same time from pain. Pain in my stomach would give me the urgent alert to go to the restroom. When I ate something with skin, seeds or raw fruits or veggies it felt like digesting glass (while flaring). So, for 11 years I ate a diet that consisted of mostly sugar, carbs, and meats.

I am now symptom free and medication free since I started the SCD diet. People dont realize that grains gluten sugar and dairy cause inflammation in so many people. If you have ever notices any dairy intolerance I would start with the paleo diet. The SCD diet allows aged cheeses and 24 hour fermented yogurt but the poleo does not as far as I know.

Have you been officially diagnosed with Crohn's? What are your symptoms? A liquid diet is ideal if in a full blown flare to let your bowels rest a bit. Start with a homemade chicken soup, eggs things like that. Check out my links in my signature if you are interested in trying diet to control your Crohn's. It doesn't work for everyone (I hear), but it worked for me :)

Thank you so much for your info. I suppose for now im very fortunate. I have no pain at all. Just frequent diarrhea. I think ill try your diet and see if that doesnt help with the frequent trips to the restroom. Happy for your wonderful results. Best wishes to you. :)

Sorry for the confusion. In my original message, i commented on how fortunate i was to be a liver transplant recipient. I cant express strongly enough how appreciative i am for the donor family that showed such compassion for others at one of the worst times of their lives. Again, i'm sorry for any confusion i caused.:sign0144:
