Hi folks,
well after a busy month of being poked and prodded, i have had the all clear to get my Azathioprene.
Took first 2 last night and didnt keel over so thats good, no nausea yet, so fingers crossed. I am on last 3 weeks of pred, so on 15mg, dwindling down 5mg a week, so hopefully the slack between about almost 2 weeks of aza and finishing the pred will dovetail?
Anyway my GF was googling the aza symptoms etc and saw that you have to use contraception when on this drug.
My gf uses the pill (Microgynon) and she is always very careful with new meds etc, but she was a bit worried about it in that i am taking the azathioprene, is the pill sufficient?
I am led to believe it can cause birth defects etc so she is obviously worried.
Is she okay to carry on, i assume a drug i am taking shouldnt effect her.
I have specialist appointment on wednesday so i will ask him, but was just curious.
