Ok so I was just looking at the bottle of pills on my bed and I read 4 capsules four times a day. I was like holy crap. I was just taking 4 pills a day and 1 pill from the folic acid bottle a day. No wonder I'm still bleeding!!!
Since the 5th I started taking them.
This only stopped the pain in my lower left side of my stomach and I've only been going 2 or 3 times to do bathroom, not the regular 6 times I usually went.
So it looks like as long as I take the suggested amount, I should get better!
Only good news is, I will have extra to sell... lol no I will have extra in case I drop some on the floor or late to get refills:)
Wish me luck :)

Hmm...well - I guess that is GOOD news eh?? Let's see how it goes for you over the next few weeks - hopefully you'll see a big change!

Ok so I won't see it in a few days, it could be a few weeks? Ah........I could have been better now.....

Well, I'm assuming your are talking about a 5ASA like Pentasa or Asacol right? usually takes at least a few days to feel something and a few weeks (time to actually let things heal) to feel "better".

Yes its Pentasa. Ok thanks for this. I was gonna go to the doctor on monday but I shall wait. :)

That would be me. My GP had me on 40mg of Zocor and changed it to 80 mg. I had a bunch of 40's so I was taking 2 every night. about a month and a half later I went to the Dr and Janis went with me and the nurse asked what meds I was taking and I said 2 pills of 40mgs. Janis looked at me and said "I refilled that script 3 weeks ago with 80 mg. I was taking 160 mg of Zocor every night.

My father in law doles out my mother in laws meds...She justs takes them without a care in the world. That's trust right there!

Many people misread labels etc...that is why counseling from the pharmacists is in place....I've notice it seems to have gotten a bit lax out here. Has anyone else noticed that where you live?
I hope you continue to feel better Swirl.

I must say the pharmacy I use in SA is quite good at the whole explaining before you leave the store bit.
I laughed about your mom in law IMP, I know a lady who is on HRT and her hubby also doles out her meds. He got mixed up between the vits and HRT and could't understand why his wife had turned into a wild animal!

When I told the doctor she just sat there in a daze so Janis asked if she knew if it would be a big problem and the Dr said "I don't know, I've never had anyone do that with Zocor." Apparently it didn't affect me to much. I just need to figure out how to keep this other head from growing out of my neck.

So it looks like its pretty common to overdose. I'm still waiting for it to work I'm also drinking Ensure Plus yummmy and eating bananas. Bananas work great for me:)

Thank you:) I hope it does, if it doesn't then I think it may be more serious...
I'll give it until the second week of Feburary to work. It is scary to see a lot of blood.

IMP, i completely agree with pharmacies being laxwith patient counselling. I don't even get a printout, just a few key points. I go to the ones with the cheapest dispensing fee though, i think around here the more expensive dispensing fee comes with better patient teaching?
