Tapering effects after 2 days?

Hello lovely peeps,

So a little question for those more experienced with Crohn's.
I've been on x3 3mg (so 9mg) of budesonide for 2 weeks. Sunday I tapered to x2 (6mg) and had stomach cramps on Monday. Today I've been to the loo 5 times and once had diarhoea.
I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow, should I be asking to have longer on the 9mg? Or should I be waiting it out a bit longer? Feels like I was finally having a few good days on the final few days of 9mg but Monday and today have just gotten worse. Today has been periodically intense pain on the lower gut.

Suggestions from those who have tapered and had a similar experience? Does it get better or should I go back up a steroid?

I'm also on 4mg of Pentasa (mesalazine) which I figure it dulling something, but doing nothing right now.

Are you transitioning into a strong maintenance drug like a biologic? You may need to be on the 9mg longer but me importantly is the game plan after steroids and building up drug levels in your body for whatever maintenance drug is appropriate.

Dropping down to 6 mg and running to the loo could be coincidental. Probably not but it will take longer than one day to find out. Hang in there and see what the doctor thinks.
