tapering Pred, symptoms coming back?

Hi all, I have just went down to 20 mg of pred the other day and I'm feeling symptoms coming back... Tender stomach, dizziness, fuzzy vision, gurgling, slight nausea. Oh what fun :( The plan is to come off the pred anyway and maybe start remicade or humira. I'm not looking forward to all this creeping back. I also go for a small bowel series on the 13th and will hopefully know more. But past barium series have not shown much detail at all. The colonoscopy was the test that diagnosed me for the second time. I guess that it's best to have the test when I'm at my worst anyway. *sighs*

Hope you are all doing well.

Yeah the vision issues are a new one, have you seen an eye care provider? Sometimes inflammation can affect the eyes, you def wanna get that checked!

Stay away from pred, it's evil!

I think the dizziness comes from the low grade fever. My eyes do get bothersome gritty feeling and tons of floaters. Only thing my reg dr. said about my eyes was allergies and gave me drops. I think it's a cop out because I have these bouts every couple weeks.

The next course of action is either remicade or humira, I have high hopes for these meds.

I think I will push the eye issue a lot more, my mom had iritis. Not something I wanna play with!!

Shantel: Sorry I can't remember but, are you on remicade right now?

nogutsnoglory: Ah the evil pred, so glad the dr. didn't put me on a high dose to begin with. It did really help till recent taper. I'm happy that I had a break and could eat again and not to mention the energy to get stuff done, it's such a drag to be sitting around with no energy to even clean the house. So far the house still sparkles :)

I have had moments of wanting to put my dose back up!

On 40 I was buzzing and, as you said, my house was spotless, but now on 15 and am so damned tired I can;t think straight - no tummy symptoms though touch wood.

Yup - I can relate to that. As soon as I get down to 15-20mg level, my symptoms start coming back. The gurgling and nausea are the first signs for me too. :(

The fuzzy vision could be the fact that because you are tired / fatigued, the muscles in your eyes have difficulty focusing properly.

Oh great!! About 6 days after I got off of Pred. I'm having MORE pain and nausea then when I was on it!! I can't take it any more because it is making me swell!!!!

I couldn't drive at night on the Prednisone because I even had trouble reading street signs during the day. It's a side effect of the medication. Now that I'm off the Pred I can see again without squinting. Of course, my symptoms came right back and joining the Remicade club next week. Grrr.
