tears, soreness, itchyness??

hi all, horibble title for a horrible question.
is it common for the anus to itch like mad?
feel better when scratched, only to turn insanely sore!?
almost looks like tear marks aswell?
wot is this, is it normal?

last thing, when i wipe, sometimes a bit deep i get a bit of blood on the tissue,
thing is its not from inside, its about an inch in and spots blood, shouldnt this thing heal in time or does it need attention??

thanks for any help at all,
i realise i need another camera but just cant face it at the mo.

cheers

re the itchnyness, i think i must look like a dog been scratched just above the tailbone when i wipe. i swear that itching that butt feels so good that my legs about to start twitching!

and then the pain sets in....

i always finish my toilet routine with some anal cream to look after that soreness.....

yeah, funny that! ha.
Have you ever seen dogs drag there arses round the lawn?

that would sort it.
:ylol2:

I get that from time to time too.....it feels so good to scratch, then hurts so bad later. LOL I would put some anti-itch cream on it after going to the bathroom. That usually does the trick for me. :)

you have ringworm, dont worry its common for crohn's suffers... I also have this its itchy as hell looks horrible and dry, and will cause you bleeding on the toilet paper.

there is really nothing you can do about it, ive been trying to get rid of mine for more than a year, and it keeps coming back.

Ringworm is also contageous so make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after the toilet, and DO NOT touch anything else on your body while you are crapping, ive currently made this mistake more than once.

When I was younger I got it, and touched my head and got a bald patch, its now gone but was not pleasant.

USE ANTI BACTERIAL HAND WASH

Actually, its probably just a fissure. Calmoseptine is a nice cream available at your local pharmacy (you have to ask for it). Fissures are troublesome, but not a HUGE health issue.

fissures itch and are dry?... not according to my knowledge. The description fits ringworm and I have the same Identical problem right down to the blood on the paper. Basically it gets a bit tender and since your backside is moist the ringworm gets soft and sensitive, so when you wipe you tear it a little.

it also can get dry and feel like a ripping sensation, its not a pleasant experience, its like tearing your pants but its your skin.

If you want a proper diagnosis I would suggest you speak to your doctor and there should be some creams or tablets to deal with it. People on here cant really see the problem (please dont post a photo), so its hard for us to tell you.

can you look into a mirror and tell us is it red, dry, almost like a patch, and itching like mad?

I will post a link into google images of photos of ringworm for you and please let us know if it is or is not like or unlike this.

it could actually be a myriad of things, just remember this is more a sharing thing we can do our problems, none of us are qualified to diagnose each other over the internet.

and Mark, you have given me the worse idea now of dragging myself along the carpet.... naughty mark! my wife will niot be pleased with you:D

Jed - if you DO end up dragging your butt on the carpet, will you get a video of it and post it on facebook??

My guess for the itchy butt is that it is a hemmerhoid. The ONLY time I ever had itchy-butt-syndrome (not to be confused with IBS) is when I had hemmies from pregnancy. Haven't had them since, and haven't had the itchies either.
Ringworm can't live on mucous membranes, so depending on how near your anus, or inside/outside it is - that might help you figure it out. Jed is right though - best to be diagnosed by a real doc.

Rhinos itch their backs on trees don't they?? Drag your butt on some tree bark maybe? AHhhh... relief.

Leafy - I may have misread yor post. Did you write that you have had ringworm for over a year? It needs to be treated with antifungal tablets or cream to get rid of it.

i got rid of my ring worms with the mars bar treatment.

on the monday and tuesday @ 7am, i stuck 1/4 of a mars bar up my butt
wed & thursday @ 7am, i stuck 1/2 a mars bar up there.
from friday to the following thursday @ 7am i stuck a whole mars bar up my butt.
on the following friday, at 7am, my wife and i waited in the bathroom together, she with a golfclub in her hands.
@ 7.05, my tummy gurgled,
@ 7.10, i was getting bad spasms in my butt
@ 7.15, the worm stuck his head out and yelled "hey!!!!!! wheres my *&^%ing Mars bar?????"

thats when my wife smacked him over the head with the golf club...

sorted:D

ringworm is not TAPEWORM.

its a fungal infection of the skin...... so why would he be dragging his bum on the carpet.

Ive had every kind of pill and potion for my ringworm and it hasnt gone away!

ringworm is closer to being a magic mushroom than a tapeworm.... you stick the effected area under a UVB light and it glows in the DARK!

imagine a glowing crack.... jeeze now that would be a sight to see.... Ill give it a shot tonight HAHAHAHAHA

LOL Jed!!!

so mark, what you should do is stick your butt under a black light and see if it glows.

and then buy mars bars.

I can vouch for the fact that the Mars bar approach works a treat!

Going back to the original post... Mark... if it's itchiness caused by over zealous application of TP after frequent BMs (sorry for all the crohnie jargon), there's stuff called Siopel which you can buy over the counter in the UK. Calmoseptine can't be bought in the UK, but you can mail order it. The best source I've seen is from ebay UK

If it seems really bad, may be a good idea to go to the doc, like a lot of things, it can probably be sorted out really easily

I'm with Katie on this one.
It sounds like one of my fistulas before it starts to fill. It always got very itchy before it exploded.... :)

Funnily enough, they also gets itchy when they're healing as well....

But, best advise...? see your doc.

Funniest thing I have seen in my life.
Tried reading it to my husband, but couldn't cuz there was too much air coming out instead of words.

Sorry Mark that your serious thread turned into this. That's what happens when Jed goes "back to work".
Agent really has a good answer though - Calmoseptine - the best butt cream on earth. Just ordered yet ANOTHER tube on Sunday.

Jed, you're awesome. :D

oh, sorry i meant to post something about the itchy butt thing lol.. yep, i would go for traditional butt creams, there's some brilliant ones on the market, don't need to given on prescription, but also a simple nappy rash cream might help too. try & keep off highly perfumed shower gels & soap.. maybe go for an antiallergenic brand, & make sure the area's really dry after showering.

a lot of sore skin conditions also itch as well as being sore, and the more you scratch, the worse it gets :(

hope it clears up soon!

my god wot a lot of replys, thankyou everyone, for the serious and not so serious answers.
i like the sound of the creams the best, least scary, ha. will have a look for some.

the ringworm thing is a tad scary, ill end up having nightmares (hope its not that)

the tears i have are visible on the anus when looking into the mirror upside down,
you know the drill. the blood comes from the same place/tear about an inch in my anus which only bleeds when i mess with it.

i am going to get the doc to take a look nxt time im there, (cant wait:yrolleyes: )

one other thing, when the anus is sore and painfull, it feels swollen sometimes, the best way to describe this, have you seen them monkeys with the bums that hang out of the back of them,, i feel like that :eek2:

yup, i get that prolapse thing as well mark. usually takes me a minute or two of just sitting on the toilet for it to go back to normal. (so now we're dogs and monkeys...)

ahh crohns, how much more fun can you get?

well thats made me feel better, at least its not just me.
theres certain things that are easier to ask about on here than ask someone face to face. glad i checked here first.

cheers :)

yeah, its not exactly pub chat is it....

"hey ladies, would you like a drink? by the way, does your butt prolapse when you got to the toilet and itch it to much??

ladies??

ladies???

hmmmm, hey man how ya doing, does ......"

Hi Mark

The symptoms you describe sound like exactly what I get when I have a fissure. Not too serious (compared with fistulas) but they can be a real pain in the butt :). I take a cream called Rectogesic which assists with healing as well as anesthetizing the pain, I know there are also other ones out there. But obviously get it checked out first.

Jed that is exactely what my husband said to me the first time we met.

Oh and yes to me it does sound like a fissure, but I would talk to your doc.

My butt itches all the time. I use the wipes that have the anti-itch butt cream on them. This way I feel clean, moistened, and it helps with the itch.

I am sure no one at home or at work wants to see me scratching my ass or dragging it across the floor.

I, too, have had CAS (Chimp's Arse Syndrome)... sometimes after a BM you just have to compose yourself and sit there while it all goes back in (that's how it feels anyway)

Regarding what Ding said earlier about soap which is not too perfumed... I tend to use "simple soap"... available at a supermarket near you (in the UK anyway)

Mine itches periodically as well...always has. it is probably not ringworm, so don't be worried about that...I mean...if you're constantly wiping your bum all the time, it's bound to get dry, crack, bleed, and itch...just a fact of life :)

Yeah - proooooobably not.

But if you find it is? This can't hurt!

Oh god - how many times can I quote Jed do you think??

Ok, so my bum has been itchy for the past few days and I found this thread in search of remedies. Mark, I have exact same symptoms. Am using calmoseptine which seems to help.

But, Mars Bars? Holy crap - I can't stop chuckling.

Have you considered that it may actually be candida-related?

I personally have had problems with candida for years on and off and while it only becomes a real problem when it gets into your girly-bits, it does make the butt itch too. And then there is a powerflul need to scratch and then you can take the skin off and such.

I take probiotics and lay off the sugary food wnad this seems to take care of it.

My 2 cents anyway

shaz

Have to agree with that - I don't think it'll be ringworm either. Itching around that area was one of my first symptoms - and I'd describe it exactly as above. Also, if you are are 'leaking' mucus, especially at night, then this is going to irritate the skin around there, making you itch and scratch.

I have a big tub of Aqueous Cream BP (aka Bum Gum or ass cream) in my bathroom and it's applied after multiple-visits to keep things comfortable! :)

A big TUB of ass cream??? You just sit in it and your butt feels better...now there's an idea right there!

I used to get this ALL the time, and nobody ever knew what was wrong. There wasn't anything there except irritation from the itching and such. It used to drive me nuts because like Ian (ok, Jillian) said earlier, it feels so good to itch it and then it hurts sooo bad after. hehe

That was all going on before the diagnosis too. But now that I've had surgery, I haven't had the butt itch since. hm... wonder what the actual significance of it is.
