Hi fellow Crohnies! I'm Dana and am glad to have found this forum. I came across it while searching for information about Cipro and Levaquin side effects. I've been on both drugs for long durations at one time or another. And about 6 months ago I had surgery for a torn achilles tendon in my right foot. I'm curious if anyone else out there on Cipro or Levaquin has had tendon damage of any sort that they attribute to the drugs?

Hi Dana, welcome. I'm glad you are here though I wish none of us had to be :(

I've never taken Cipro but I did take 10 days of Levaquin not that long ago. It's a tough drug for sure and I remember reading one of the potential side effects was tendon and ligament issues. I personally didn't have any, but I was on it for just 10 days. If you were on it for a longer duration, I think it's possible that it could be a culprit.

Either way, I'm sorry you've had to go through so much. I hope you're mending well and wish you nothing but the best!

Hi Dana - I have read about others on here that have had torn tendons from Levaquin or Cipro. There are class action suits out there right now against the manufacturers for that reason!

I hope the damage has been repaired and you are back to normal again! Is your Crohn's under control now?

- Amy
