It has been a few months away from here and for my mental health it was much needed. D is now 4 months with an Ostomy and medication free. She is becoming an amazing champion in this. She is back to her old self playing sports, out with friends and back to normal weight. So far life with an Ostomy has been great.

Free of medications is great too but I don't expect it to last forever so we will enjoy it while it lasts. Bloodwork has come back good and she has an MRE scheduled in a few weeks to check for inflammation effort determining next steps. Surgeon is suggesting j-pouch, D wants no part of it and wants to just learn how to be a healthy kid again.

I missed everyone and glad to be back!

What a great update!! :D I'm so glad to hear she is doing so well and is enjoying life!!

Hope it keeps up for a long, long, long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dusty:

Wow, wonderful that she's doing so well!!

Did they stop meds because she "officially" has UC now? Or will they put her back on meds later? It's almost a shame you had to give up the painless Simponi ;).

REALLY glad she is managing so well - what a superstar :dance:!

It's good to hear from you, and I'm glad that your daughter is doing so well!

Thanks for sharing the good news. You two are an amazing pair! Thanks from us again for the work you did with CCFC it was a huge help personally.

Maya yes they stopped meds because pathology says UC. Surgeon still questions it based upon the way it looked and some of the cases he has had of kids that go back and forth with diagnosis.

Considering she is still having rectal bleeding in betting she will be put on a new again soon. MRE this Thursday. It sure has been great being med free for however long it lasts.

I've not been on here for a while. It is really great to see your update on D. Long may her recovery continue.:thumleft:
