I'd like to say THANK YOU, to you Mike and especially the Forum. It has been a year to the day (Nov 5 2011) that I felt like I had know where to turn, yet I found this Crohn's Forum late one lonely night.

I came in as a stranger and left out as family. Scared to open up and talk about thing I just didn't understand, worried and giving up hope that my son was dying because of doctors not knowing much about Crohn's Disease or IBD and how to treat it here where I live. You guy's directed me and responded to me and inspired me in creating a Crohn's Foundation that helps people understand what it is they have and to support them through there challenges. I named the Foundation.

Crohn's Charity Service Foundation, we are located in Naples Florida, where the Doctors here don't really know how to manage this Disease. We are a 501c3 non profit organization and we can serve the whole State.
I didn't know much but I learned and created a place where people are now calling and getting help.

Just in one year, I've wrote our the articles, completed the paperwork for the Corporation, filled out the application for 1023 which is our 501c3, got accepted as a 501c3 non profit on Aug 20 2012.

And today I just received an email, that Collier County Commissioner of Naples Florida.

Will be presenting a Proclamation to us to recognize “ Crohn’s & IBD Awareness Week” Dec1 thru 7. this will happen on Nov 13th 2012.
Now I would like to talk about who we are helping, other than me son who is coming along very well. He is getting Remicade now and that also started 1 yr ago.

But we also have signed up for our help: Ashley a 22yr old girl, who in her third year of college got sick and was rushed to the hospital here in Naples. When she arrived the hospital was not educated enough to help her so they flew by helicopter to Miami Children Hospital where she was diagnosed with Crohn’s, they operated and took out feet of her intestines.

Next but not our last client is a young lady who recently got married, and because of her disease she is now separated from her husband because he just could cop with the illness.

Again no where to turn she surf the web and found CCSF, she need a operation and is working still working part time. We are working to help raise funding for her.

Thank you guys you saved my life and my sons life and now a lot of people lives.

I'm glad your son is doing so well, that's fantastic. :) And I wish your non profit great success and hope you are able to help many people!

What percentage of your revenue goes towards administrative and fundraising costs?

One final thing, I'm sorry, but per our forum rules, we don't allow fundraising/donation requests in posts so I removed that part of your post. Please don't take that personally. You ARE allowed to put a link in your signature if you like, however.
