My God!
What a day! first the dentist, then the osteopath!
Let's just say, I'm ready for the knacker's yard!
ok, here's what I've got now!
Arnolds Neuralgia!
here's all about it

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occipital_neuralgia

By the bloody hell's fire!
the osteopath said it can be treated with steroids!!! WTF?
Piss Orf!!
but... best £40 I've ever spent! He's cracked me neck and me back! and I had a very deep massage with Johnsons Baby Oil!
I'm still in agony tho, and just need to rest, have to go back next Tuesday for some more manipulation, and take painkillers.
So this is what's happened - I've got neuralgia, caused by God knows what?, then got me knickers in a twist cos I thought I had a brain tumour! (no jokes purrleese!) so started grinding me teeth with anxiety, ended up with aching jaws too, but hey! I have no Crohns symptoms!! bloody typical!
Going for a long lie down now! PHEW!
xxxx

Ahhh Joan - so sorry to hear about all of this. Sometimes it seems if it is not one thing it is another. I am hoping that you can get everything sorted out and just plain feel better all around. I will be thinking of you.

aw poor you, Joan :( what are you going to do? i take it the steroid idea is off, so did the chiro have any other suggestions??

Hiya Sue

I'm in so much pain!
the right side of my head from gnashing!
the left side from neuralgia! feel like I've got a tight helmet on!
All I can do is rest and take painkillers, and I'll tell you all this now!
I have been taking Ibuprofen! Yes I know! not practising wot I preach! but it's the only med that works. Neuralgia is inflamed swollen nerve endings in the muscle in the neck, and the Ibuprofen is working!
Our Amy has posted somewhere to ask God to give me a break!
Yeah God, go and pick on someone your own size and leave me alone!

aw hun, i'm so sorry for you :(

maybe a warm compress on the back of your neck/head might help, like a hot water bottle??

Aww Joan, I thought they had you all figured out with the tmj. Don't hurt yourself with ibuprofen....don't hurt yourself by not taking it...I don't know what to say just get better!!

Wow, that sucks! Glad it's figured out.
I wonder if my husband has this. He gets frequent headaches all in the back of his neck - he says they are not normal headaches. Started happening after a wreck he got in 10 years ago and he hit his head on the windshield.
How did they diagnose it?

Hiya May

yes it can be thro trauma! I had a neck injury in work many years ago, and the pain can just come on many years later, the osteopath diagnosed it, don't know how tho!
google occipital neuralgia aka Arnolds neuralgia, one of the symptoms is scalp pain, like my hair has been pulled out! it also hurts my eyes when the light is on, another common symptom, often misdiagnosed as migraine.
Another thing your husband could look at is 'cluster' headaches, very common in men.

It never rains but it pours hey? I hope you feel better soon Joan (since you're having it all now you desreve a nice break!)
Sending you lots of
