This just made me angry. This reporter needs a thousand emails to educate him on his insensitivity towards IBD suffering people. Minimally the Postal Service should have supplied him with a means to handle the emergency BM that caused the story.

Have a read on this this link. Am I wrong?

Hey riversilt, thanks for your interest in WC Varones! I had to register for this forum lest you continue to get the facts wrong.

First, the author is a female (me). Second, nowhere in the story did it say anything about the mailman suffering from Crohn's or any other bowel or intestinal disease. In fact, if you read the article (go ahead, read it again), I specifically stated that had he had some affliction of the bowel such as Crohn's, his actions may have been forgivable. I stand by my statement that if you are unable to hold it in for hours at a time, perhaps being a mailman is not the right career for you. That still leaves lots of fulfilling careers and if this is a problem, take it up with the USPS, not me.

I find it highly curious that you would defend the mailman and get outraged over an article that simply points out how inappropriate it is for a mailman to use his customer's lawn as a toilet. As far as I can tell, there is no medical reason for this mailman's behavior.

For a little bit of background, I lost the love of my life to Stage 4 colon cancer several years ago. Not once did he ever drop the kids off on anyone's lawn, even at the height of his suffering, and he certainly did not want to work in a job that would keep him away from a restroom for half the day. So call me heartless if you like but save me the education, I've already seen what true suffering looks like first-hand.

Best of luck to you fine people.

Well if you were that bothered about the story why didnt you find out if he did have a disease like IBD etc, rather just adding a point that he may have done.

Personally im not bothered about it at all as its just a second rate story that people just glance over. A reporter has heard half a story and then quickly made up the rest adding their own views.

The fact that the guy didnt get sacked makes me believe he did have a valid reason (are we even sure it actually happened?) so we can leave it at that.

I wouldnt bother emailing to that link either, it will most prob have a filter set up to block any emails with hate words / IBD etc in the subject. Plus its journalism, you expect it to be made up (one reason I never buy the paper or watch it on tv)
