but how many of you have gotten a tattoo while on medication that suppress your immune system?

I'm currently on methotrexate and will be going on remicade within the next few weeks. There has been a tattoo I've been wanting for quite a while now so I booked the appointment but then started thinking about my immune system and how it may effect the healing process. I'd hate to spend the time and money on new ink and then it look like s*&t because of my compromised immune system.

Any experience here?

I'm not sure if you got an answer somewhere else already, but I got a tattoo when I was on Prednisone and I only realised that it might had been a bad idea after I got it. It did heal a bit slower, but that might have been because of the placement. I didn't have any complications though. The tattoo healed nicely :)
Good luck[emoji171]

I think that someone with IBD heals slower. I have not had any experience with tattoos myself.

I have one that I got 4 weeks ago and it was healed in about three weeks, which is pretty fast. But I think it really depends on the placement and when you're getting it. I just got another one on my ankle and I'm not on Prednisone this time, so I'll see if it's about the same as back when I got the other one :)

I ended up going ahead with the tat I wanted. It was a 3 session piece with about 3-4 weeks in between sittings and it healed really well each time. So no worries for the next piece I'm saving up for :)
