Hi guys

I was just wondering if you have any advice for me.
I am just wondering when you say "thats it, this period of illness has made things too difficult" and when its best to solider on, its such a fine line. I got an art residency in September and it has coincided with me getting a flare up and I don't know whether to ask to start again next september or just to soldier on and my work not be as good as I want it to be. Not even sure I should be going to work!

I haven't been well since June ish but pretty bad since October. I started infliximab in December, its not lasting the full 6 week left and I am finding after 3-4 weeks I am back in pain again. And to top it all I got an unrelated "cyst" at the beginning February which meant that I had to have an operation two weeks ago, the recovery of which has co-insided with the infliximab wearing off, February has been a complete right off!!! I'm at quite a low weight for me, 45kg, thats 8kg I've lost since September!

I have a month until I have to come up with some work but I just don't know how I will feel for that month, its not looking promising! I'm not even sure how to tell them.

I'm sure most people with Crohns have these decisions to make from time to time I'd love to hear your stories.

first thing you hhave to think about is the art thing going to to put too much stress on you. I was doing a maths degree and had to halt 2 for 2 yrs because of my IBD. To me the stress wasnt worth it

You have only just started Infliximab, I felt different after the 1st dose but didnt feel ok after the 4th. Im not perfect and do find food and drink will cause me a lot of problems. I can tolerate white wine, cider and vodka in small quantities but you will have to find out whats best for you

I also found that 2weeks before the next infusion i'd get symptoms back. Even though I class myself as normal, i do get bloated, and after exercise i do get bleeding
