Hi don't know if this is tmi since everything about crohns is kinda gross but i really need to know three things:
1. I leak out of my bum and sometimes it's poo but I think other times it's pus or mucus or something. It's so gross and disgusting. Does this happen yo any one else?????? And will it go away once I get into remition??? I'm so embarrassed and since I just got diagnosed am having shard time dealing with all of it but this takes the cake.

2. Since my food doesn't get digested properly, does anyone know about how long it takes our food to digest? I'm wondering bc I'm trying to figure out what foods hurt me.

3. Lastly, I'm pregnant and wondering if my baby is getting the nutrients he needs. How will I know or who can I ask? I know the baby gets everything before me so I would suffer first like I did when I was in the hospital for 9 das learning I had this stupid disease. I just want my baby to be ok. Hes currebtly living off mostly chicken and carbs.

Thank you for your help! Thanks so much.

Hi. Sorry you're going through this. And no such thing as tmi on this forum.

1. Leaks. Yup. It's happened to a lot of us. I'm assuming you have no fistulas.
Pads or liners can help. remission should help with that.

2. Undigested food. Also very common. Once in remission and the inflammation is gone it would improve a lot.

3. Sorry. I have no idea.

Sending you my support.

Welcome, don't worry about tmi here. Sorry you are going through this process while pregnant. My crohns was sort of stable during my pregnancy, but your obgyn should keep a close eye on you. Stress was a big factor for me. I had two ER visits without adverse problems for my baby, but it's scary. This forum is very supportive.

Thank you. I absolutely love the support of this forum. I have actually started to feel better the past few days so I believe my meds are working. I have my second remocade infusion on Thursday. I'm very nervous about the baby. I hear so much about most pregnant women going into remission when they are pregnant. My gastro said mine flared so badly BECAUSE of the baby!! Of course that would happen to me! Oh well. I'm just so glad I'm starting to feel better and I just want to say again thank you so much for the support. (And I hope I don't have to have any more ER visits. So sorry you had to go through that)

LilB13 - I didn't have any problems during pregnancy but I wasn't diagnosed at that point other than IBS. Good luck, thank goodness your starting to feel better. I have the food not being digested all the time. I'm sure you already have but make sure you OB knows everything and tests your vitamin levels, etc frequently just to be on the safe side.

I do know some digestive tracts work faster than others so it is really hard to tell on that question.

Congratulation on your new baby - such a blessing!! :ghug:
