Part 1
There are several people in my life that have made a tremendous impact on my life and with out those people my life would completely different for the negative. The first person I would like to mention is my wife Naomi who was a pillar of support during my health crisis and continues to be my partner and friend. Second is Dr. Lisa who has been a guiding light during the recovery from my health crisis and into my current state of wellbeing. And thirdly Grand Master Sang Yun Lee without his Won Moo Hapkido I would not be able to remain drug free and be as healthy as I have ever been in my life.
I have been working with Dr. Lisa for almost 4 years now and I have to say it has been an amazing experience. When I first connected with Dr. Lisa it was through divine synchronicity. I had been off of work for a few months and I was a complete disaster. My emotional, physical and spiritual well being was severely compromised and I was ready to jump off a cliff. Not knowing what to do next, I decided to start looking for someone like the famous psychic, intuitive Edgar Cayce who helped 1000s of people with medical issues through his psychic readings. Through synchronicity I followed one lead after another and quickly found Dr. Lisa who I hoped could help me with my illness through her psychic / intuitive abilities, like Cayce had done in the 1940’s.
My story first begins when my father and I went into business together. After the bankruptcy of my fathers first business which I had absolutely no controlling interest in we created a second business in which we became 50/50 partners. I was to run everything but the sales division which was going to be run by my father. That business lasted a little over 10 years and was fairly profitable. We had many, many father and son arguments that put a tremendous amount of stress on me as my father always wanted to control my part of the responsibilities. Over time the working relationship between my father and I eroded and working together at the end of our business relationship became horribly stressful.
Then about 5 year into our business relationship on one Friday afternoon I felt like I was coming down with the flu. Instead of having the flu, like I thought, I actually had a complete intestinal blockage (for some reason many serious illnesses start like flu symptoms). Over the weekend I stayed in bed the whole time and when Sunday afternoon rolled around I was feeling so horrible I could barely make it to the bathroom. Since it took every ounce of energy I could muster just to walk 10’ to the bathroom I decided I really needed to go to the hospital.
After many scans, pokes, prods and barium x-rays, Sunday evening, the Doctor finally figured out what was going on. Monday morning the Doctor came in to my hospital room and announced that I need emergency surgery to fix the blockage, which was a tangled mess or else I would die within hours.
Early Mondayafternoon I was in surgery for 3 hours in which the Doctor removed about 12” of large intestine and rerouted my intestines out my abdominal wall. After surgery the Doctor told me that I would need the colostomy bag for at least 4 - 6 months but luckily the colostomy bag was temporary.
Also after surgery the Doctor asked if I ever had my appendix removed? I said "no" why? He said. I thought so because I could not find a scar but your appendix is gone. I said "how could I not have my appendix" and He "told" me he didn't know. After the first couple of days in the hospital they hooked up a strange brown bottle to my IV. Not knowing what it was I of course asked and was told it was my food.
Little did I know at the time that my first synchronicity was at the hospital because the Doctor / Surgeon that worked on me was the most qualified to do the procedure and also the anesthesiologist was the best in the area. They both happened to be on call the weekend that I got sick and my general practitioner told me any less of a Surgeon and I wouldn’t have made it. So not only did I have a complete blockage and my appendix had dissolved, I also had peritonitis which is an infection of the abdominal wall. Many people over the course of history have died just from peritonitis alone and my great grandfather was one of them.
Amazingly I survived the operation and the 10 days in hospital and I went home to recover and had my new friend (colostomy bag) for, as it turned out, the next 8 months. Slowly I recovered and started to get my strength back which was an agonizingly slow process. I was so weak I could only walk to the end of my driveway before I got tired and had to go back into the house, I needed major help to climb the stairs and even to take a shower. I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to my wife for helping me though this miserable time in my life.
After a few months of recovery I went to see the Doctor on a follow up visit and he said that my stool looked unusual because there was still blood in it and he wanted me to see a gastroenterologist. I then made an appointment with a gastroenterologist and gave him my case history. He decided that we needed to run a battery of tests to find out what’s going on. The last test and the one that confirmed my diagnosis was a colonoscopy in which the nurse blurted out "a classic case of Crohns disease".
The type Crohns I have is more unusual as I get constipated whereas most who are afflicted with Crohns have diarrhea, additionally my Crohns is the type develops fistulas. For those who are unfamiliar; a fistula is where two sections of bowel touch and where they they touch they will grow together and make a new channel or connection between the two. When enough new channels were created and my bowels interconnecting in a looping mess they finally just blocked where nothing could pass though.
Now not only did I have a complete intestinal blockage but I ended up being diagnosed with Crohns disease which along with destroying a part of my intestines complete dissolved my appendix which was something the Doctor had never seen before in his many, many experienced years as a surgeon. I was in the hospital for a total of 10 days with nothing to eat or drink for the first 7 – 8 days because my intestines were in shock. I lost almost 40 lbs during my 10 day internment and did loose all of my physical strength.
After several months I started to regain my strength and I decided to try and go back to work for short periods during the day. Slowly life got back to some type of normalcy and things got back normal. Which was unfortunate because that’s what caused me to slowly get eaten up by the stress and fighting with my father. For the next 4 years life continued on and just under one month before my 40th birthday I decided I couldn’t take the stress at work anymore and my father bought me out of the business.
My physical body had somewhat recovered from the surgical episode a few years earlier but my Crohns disease had continued to cause me a tremendous amount of pain, so much so I was on some of the strongest painkillers available. The worst symptom aside from just outright pain is the sensation of having take a shit when you cant. Even though I do NOT have to go I still have the urge to go VERY BADLY, its a terrible sensation. (Its like having like dry heaves with your butt).
Here is a partial list of some of the assorted medications I was on. .
Morphine - By the hand full – (16 pills per day)
Duragesic Patches - 100mcg
Demerol - 100mg
Vicodin - Taking them just like popcorn
Actiq - Pain Lollypops
Prednisone 60mg
Mesalamine - By the hand full
Remicade - IV solution - Gave me artiritis in my left hand + $15,000 per IV, did it twice and said the hell with this.
Imuran - Immunosuppressive
Flagyl - Antibiotic
There were at least 7 other medications I had to take to combat the side effects of the following drugs. Like I was retaining water so the doctor put me on a diuretic to help me eliminate water then I needed Potassium because the diuretic makes you loose potassium. Then the one diuretic was not enough so I was given a heart medication to help with the water retention, the pharmacist thought I had heart problems.
